The ``Defaults'' panel(see figure 3.4) allows you to
Figure 3.4: Setup defaults panel
specify certain defaults:
- Service charge rate
- This rate is applied to any delinquent balances.
- Minimum service charge
- For any delinquent accounts, this value is
the minimum service charge.
- Tax rate
- This value is used on the invoice window. If you enter
an item on the invoice screen that is taxable, that total is
multiplied by this tax rate to determine the tax.
- Payment types
- These values must be one word separated
by one or more spaces. These values appear on the invoice
window to allow you to enter the payment type. You can modify
these values accordingly to whatever payment types you accept.
Typical values are: Cash, Check, Visa, Discover, AmericanExpress.
Note: See how we made ``AmericanExpress'' one word with no
blank between ``American'' and ``Express''. Remember, each value
entered here must be one word long.
- Default city
- This city value is automatically populated
on the client window when you go into ``Add Mode''. For example,
if most of your customers reside in Fooville, then you would
enter Fooville to save yourself from entering Fooville
for each new customer.
- Default state
- This state value is automatically populated on the client
window when you go into ``Add Mode''.
- Default zip
- This zip code value is automatically populated on the client
window when you go into ``Add Mode''.
